One of the best parts of photography is always having another adventure waiting.
Maybe your next Camera Date is a trip to a national park.
Maybe it’s a walk through your neighborhood at sunset.
Maybe it’s the county fair, your grandkids playing in the backyard, an old barn down the road, or simply your own garden after a summer rain.
Wherever it is, we’d love to hear about it.
Tell us where you’re planning to go and what you’re hoping to photograph. Maybe you’ll inspire someone else to head out with their camera, too.
Some ideas to share:
Where are you going?
What are you hoping to photograph?
Is there a particular light, season, or weather you’re waiting for?
Is this somewhere you’ve visited before or a brand-new adventure?
Sometimes the best Camera Dates happen exactly where we are. The important thing is making time to get out, slow down, and enjoy the journey.
We can’t wait to hear where your next Camera Date will take you.

If you’ve been around Camera Dates for very long, you’ve probably figured out that I get just as excited about photographing a quiet morning in my backyard as I do visiting someplace new.
My next Camera Date might be a nearby conservation area, a country gravel road, a small-town festival, or simply wherever the light happens to lead me that day. I’ve learned that the best photographs rarely come from chasing famous locations. They come from showing up with an open mind and taking the time to really see.
Every Camera Date has the potential to surprise me. I may head out looking for a landscape and come home with a close-up of a wildflower, an old weathered fence post, or light filtering through the trees in a way I’ve never noticed before.
That’s one of the reasons I love photography so much. You never really know what you’ll come home with, and sometimes the photograph you weren’t looking for becomes your favorite of the day.
Wherever your next Camera Date takes you, I hope you’ll share it with all of us. You might just inspire someone else to grab their camera and head out the door.
