This week’s feature is Your Background Is Talking. Are You Listening? It looks at one of the easiest parts of a photograph to ignore and one of the fastest ways to improve almost any image. The subject may be what first grabs your attention, but the background helps decide whether the photograph feels clean, confusing, quiet, dramatic, or complete.

The matching Issue II Camera Date is The Background Swap. For this exercise, you will keep one subject in the same exact location while deliberately changing the world behind it. You may use fabric, wood, glass, foliage, reflections, artificial light, or even return at another time of day.
