One of the best things about photography is that there isn’t a “perfect” camera. Great photographs are made every day with everything from smartphones to professional mirrorless cameras, vintage film cameras, and everything in between.

Right now my primary camera is a Canon EOS R5, and it has become my favorite camera I’ve ever owned.

I also enjoy using my Galaxy phone when the moment calls for it because I’ve learned that having a camera with you is more important than waiting until you have the “perfect” camera in your hands.

While I enjoy talking about gear, I’ve found that great photographs come from getting outside, paying attention to the light, and putting your boots on the ground doing Camera Dates far more than they come from owning the newest equipment.
